Triangle web site (July 8, 2009): The technologies used by TRIANGLE, from the design stage all the way to the final production of our loudspeakers, have been established in order to provide our client base of music lovers and connoisseurs, a range of products that is consistently innovative and continually delivers the truest and most natural possible sound quality.

This quality is the result of calling on the same cutting-edge design and simulation software tools that are used in the automotive and aerospace industries. Of course, our commitment to the latest technology does not mean that we have neglected our long-standing tradition of artisanal, hand-crafted design:

A Happy Marriage of Innovative Technologies and Old-World Craftmanship

MAGELLAN is a product without compromise...

Our Flagship product dedicated to delivering the pinnacle of musical performance required five years of research and development and no fewer than 415 individual pieces of equipment. The TRIANGLE engineering team set out on the ultimate challenge. Their goal was to demonstrate their know-how and expertise using their own designed processes, while at the same time incorporating the astonishing range of innovations that had allowed them to set new standards in applied technologies. And these innovations have in turn resulted in the company’s ability to offer top quality products at lower costs to our customers.

History[contribute]

renaud de vergnette founded triangle in 1981, at a time when the hi-fi market was very competitive and dominated by a number of well-established international players. the idea was simple, yet met a demand: to offer a product that was natural-sounding, cost-effective, and -- a feature that was really new for the market at that time - well-designed, with a nod to style and elegance.

ever since he was a teenager, the music-loving renaud de vergnette, would spend almost all of his meager earnings on acoustic speakers, only to find that none produced the quality that he was hearing in his head. having grown tired of wasting all of his time and money chasing after the perfect speaker, he decided to take matters into his own hands and build his first prototypes. through careful study and analysis of what was missing in existing speakers, he was able to define a line of criteria on which he would base his own loudspeaker designs. these eventually would become the intangible factors that give the brand its unique sonic identity. - clear and natural sound coupled with high dynamics and efficiency, - particular emphasis placed on the midline, the central point of the acoustic speaker. - the use of cellulose pulp diaphragm...

to the same degree that an automobile manufacturer would focus passionately on designing a proprietary engine, vergnette quickly came to see the driver design as the main deciding factor in determining the intrinsic qualities of an acoustic enclosure. he then proceeded to assemble a team of technicians who all shared his passion and vision.

the triangle esprit, the point where founder and product meet to become one, the essential ingredient that gives the brand its unique identity, the ability to stand the test of time, and the secret to triangle’s rapid rise to reign among the leaders of the high-fidelity loudspeaker market.
